For international freight of animals out of New Zealand you have to use a registered export agent, you cannot do this yourself anymore. PetMove is registered and approved as an export agent.

International freight is different for each destination country. Each country has their own requirements that must be satisfied before pets will be allowed entry. Petmove will take care of these requirements and advise the process that must be undertaken. Be sure to plan in advance as, for example, the UK requires rabies vaccination and testing which takes 6 months to complete – that’s a long time to delay your plans or board your pet!

International travel is best planned and booked weeks in advance. Shorter booking times are possible and as little as three days notice is possible to Australia but to increase the likelihood of getting your pets trip on the day you want, booking earlier is always best.

Some countries require an import permit before the pet can be exported from New Zealand. PetMove can assist with this permit but language barriers mean it is often better to source the permit in the destination country.
