what will it cost? For national freight pricing see the national page, for international - read on. There is no
easy way to say this so I’ll be direct – transporting pets is expensive. Compliance
costs to meet the entry requirements of the destination country and freight
charges from the airline add up very quickly. PetMove charges fees based on the
estimated time taken to complete the process and the number of trips required. Airlines
calculate their freight charges based on a chargeable weight. To do this they
assume a cubic meter of volume weighs 167kg’s. When your pet is measured the
IATA regulations specify the crate size to suit the size of your pet. So for
example if you were sending a large dog with a crate volume of 0.5m3 then you
would be charged 0.5 X 167kg = 83.5kg’s. Now the weight of your pet plus the
crate will never equal the chargeable weight but this is how the airline
charges to take into account the volume and weight of the crate. I had hoped
to provide cost estimates on this page but each case is so different and
without the right sized crate, prices can be badly misleading. PetMove will
provide you a free itemized price estimate to take away the guess work. First open this sizing chart - measure your pet and record the dimensions. Then either email us enq@petmove.co.nz the sizes or phone them through on 0508 PetMove |
